My desire for learning coupled with a strong work ethic started early and paid off as I was the Valedictorian of my high school graduating class. In 2007 I earned a Bachelor’s in Music Education from the University of NC (Greensboro) and moved on to become a choir teacher for Dallas ISD. Switching gears in 2012, I pursued a Master’s in Accounting, graduating from Kaplan University in 2013.
With a passion for education coupled with a love for accounting, I worked as the District Accountant and, eventually, as the Director of Accounting for Wylie Independent School District. While there I earned the Registered Texas School Business Administrator (RTSBA) certification through Texas Association of School Business Officials (TASBO) and gained substantial experience in Governmental Accounting, state and federal funding, budget projection and analysis, and team management.
After my time with Wylie ISD, I worked at Region 10 Education Service Center as the Coordinator of Finance and Accounting. Additionally, I have spent over 4 years working with a wide range of businesses providing accounting, consulting, coaching and tax prep services.
I am a Certified ProAdvisor for QuickBooks Online and have completed Dave Ramsey's Financial Coach Master Training. I find great joy building relationships with clients, working together to help them achieve individual and business financial goals.
